I use CDs. Anyone who doesn't, doesn't like music IMO. A bunch of files on the 'cloud' is not a music collection.

My approach exactly. With physical CDs, I know that I can rebuild my collection from source materials any time I need to. I've re-ripped my music half a dozen times since I started using MP3 players of one sort or another. I like using the players for their compactness and convenience, but since they are small and portable they are subject to loss or easy damage. I don't trust cloud storage for my personal property. I've read too many horror stories of that sort of thing disappearing overnight, leaving you with no recovery. Given the overheated atmosphere surrounding it, I can't see using the cloud for other than a delivery mechanism. If you don't have a backup, you're screwed.

Yeah, exactly. I think we're just of an age to see music as something less disposable than a lot of people nowadays seem to do. The idea of paying a monthly fee for 'all the music I want' and owning none of it, seems retarded to me. I buy a lot of CDs to find the few I like, then I'll buy every iteration of those few to get all the tracks that I can, and listen to them over and over. Sometimes I just get out all my box sets, just to look at them. Yes, I have a problem.....

Not to mention the fact that there are huge catalogs of music originally released on LP's that have never made it to CD format. The best you can hope for are 'Best of...' collections and that sort of thing.

Yeah, although some of those do show up, with time.

Pft. I grew up with vinyl. I remember how awesome CDs where when I first heard them. Nothing has changed.
