XKCD cuts to the heart as ever. They missed out the alternate scenario though where the bomb runs Windows, the guy clicks on Winzip and defuses it no problem... Later he gets a pay cut because his skill aren't valuable enough. Unix and Linux aren't a grab bag of mismatched inaccurately documented inconsistently interfaced tools because the people who wrote those tools are stupid. No, it's because the people who wrote those tools are clever.

This made me laugh out loud.

                  It's called job security.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason? Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful? --Zachris Topelius Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies. -- Sarah Hoyt

You only changed half of your link. The "I'm so sorry" bit still points to the main site, while the "^" part points to the "1168" permalink.
