See Here[^] I was surprised Spain was the main supplier, I suppose too many Mafia films warped my view. However, the difference between Virgin and Extra is so small that it is not worth the price differential. Too few of us have the discretion to taste or smell the differences, so why pay more? Drinking, smoking and too many curries have left me somewhat dysgeusic and anosmic to the subtleties of EVOO, so I shall soldier on. I would always buy virgin, simply because of the chemical straining used on refined oil. I expect the cost is about to launch upwards at a fair rate of knots, but this shortage can be mediated if we all go out and panic buy lots of oil today!

Your subject scared me. Halfway your post, the first reference to cooking-oil.

We buy the large bottles for around the house, and it tends to last us a while. I'll pass the word on to the wife ( I have absolutely no idea what grocery type things cost, so I would never have noticed).

            If it moves, compile it

You are aware that most EVOO on the market is not really EVOO? Just google "olive oil fraud" I actually started comparing, finally found a brand that has never been tested as fake. Other so called EVOO's suck in comparison.

False, find true EVOO and anyone can tell.

Sometimes it's not even made from olives.
