It says Buddhist on my registration forms .... One thing people usually get wrong about Buddhism, it isn't a religion. It's more of a way of life than anything. You can have your own religion, and still follow Buddhism!! But for convenience sake, I still put Buddhist when asked for my religion ;P Notorious SMC

Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: If yes, then why did he give so many different proofs to different people? He doesn't. Most 'christians' will tell you there is no evidence of God at all, just shut up, don't ask questions, and ( sometimes ) keep shooting. Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: What makes your proof valid? What I believe the Bible says puts more of a burden of proof on God than what most people believe. That does not make me right, but it's easier to challenge belief in a God who offers rigidly defined evidence of Himself, than it is to prove that God does not exist to people who don't expect Him to do anything if He does. Jörgen Sigvardsson wrote: Either one group of christians (or God-ians) must know the truth and the rest was lied to, or you have to settle with believing. I don't believe there is one denomination which has exclusive access to the truth, but I do believe there is one form of religion which is Bible Christianity. It involves more than belief, it involves experience. Christian No offense, but I don't really want to encourage the creation of another VB devel

Christian Graus wrote: Do I know there is a God ? Yes. Though I certainly don't doubt your knowledge about the existance of God, I'm curious to how this led you to be a christian. I believe you can find the same God through almost any religion or even without a religion, and as such no religion is the right one or the wrong one. Kevin

I think it's a hangover from the days when non-believers had to be seen to attend Church and so on. A "non-practicing Christian" isn't a Christian. Anna :rose: www.annasplace.me.uk

I found this thread from about 6 months ago - searching for "Buddhism". Would you consider yourself a Buddhist? I recently arrived at Buddhism after a great deal of self-analysis. It turns out that it offers exactly what it is I'm looking for. Happiness mostly. If you do practice, did you have a teacher? J

I do like the messages found in buddhism, but I'm not sure I could ever live up to it. I'd rather not call me a buddhist because I know I could not live up to it. Perhaps I can call myself a buddhist someday when I've "grown up". :) Jamie Hale wrote: If you do practice, did you have a teacher? The internet is my teacher.
