Squeaky Bum Time!

Just been told that we are cutting 6%(39 people) of our workforce in England. If we are in a team at risk we will receive a letter today informing us of such and the actual redundancies will be complete by May. Really wish I didn't book a holiday last week now :sigh: On the other hand if the guy next to me goes I could really utilise th extra desk space.

Well if you do get told your being pumped, then ask to see the evaluation criteria and performance metrics used to determine who stays or who goes. If they cannot provide this they could be in the sh!t. However if are on a sticky wicket with them anyway and know that you have not really being performing well, then best not ask and just accept it. Otherwise Good Luck!

Yeah it's a big multi-national company, they do all this to the letter of the law. It's not that I have under-performed per sé, it's just I'm in a very small group(5) and there are some very talented members. I would put myself as third most valuable member but the two below me have been here for donkey years. So am very worried.

Your job is in danger and you're spending time here in the lounge? Get back to work you slacker!
It was broke, so I fixed it.

Well that's the point. Nobody I work with can do the job of filling the Lounge with shit as well as I can.

About ten years ago, during the dot com crash, I got laid off two days before I had scheduled a family vacation. I'd already made reservations and bought tickets and so went. Had I known how long I'd be out of work, I probably wouldn't have done it, but I'm glad I did.
