This question I think is directed to middle aged people that where young when that serial was broadcasting. Seriously, though, they broke all the rules. They made shows that weren't supposed to be funny, that pushed the limits, that challenged everyone's sensibilities. It might be that their time has passed and they belong to a former time, but television and popular culture in the English speaking world would be quite different if they hadn't flown the circus. So, I hope we all take that away from the conversation, break the rules; do things that aren't supposed to work and prove us wrong.

The "problem with monty python now" is that they broke the rules and created new ones, which they now fit squarely in. Yesterday's revolutionary trailblazer is today's dude standing in the middle of the road.

Used to watch it all the time. Recently bought the DVD set. Now, if I'm very lucky, there'll be one funny bit per episode. Wonder why they cut most of the funny parts out when they made the DVDs. Now I'm scared to watch The Two Ronnies.

YouTube and My Mu[sic], Films and Windows Programs, etc.
