Alright good folks. A grand milestone is fast approaching - CodeProject's 10,000,000th member! Chris has given me the go-ahead to reach out and ask what you all think would be a good way to celebrate this landmark, so please tell us your ideas. We'd love to hear them.

Put the ten millionth membership on an auction to the highest bidder. Use the money to buy Gin, or cake. <edit>Personally I'd prefer some Bundaberg and Chocolate.</edit>

How about a charity Dutch auction. Pay whatever you choose for a bid/ticket and you get to vote for a charity. The highest bid gets 10% of the pot the rest goes to the charities in proportion to votes. Not that straight forward to organize but I reckon CPs technology is good enough to cope and with 10 million potential bidders (at least half of them crazy) interesting ammounts of money could be raised. :)

Select a random India born member living in South Africa and give him: 1. One cool CP branded shirt. 2. All expenses paid trip to CP HQ. 3. Free beer till we reach 20 Million. 4. Send all the photographs and videos of #2 to 10 Millionth member. On a serious note, discounted rates on CP member selected software products. We can have a nice little poll to select the products.

How bout start a poll on when we think the person will register. Also we could have a poll on what their first post is around (and that means no cheating and making duplicate accounts!) Those that guess correctly get some kewl CP swag :)

We definitely need some cool CodeProject swag...! Something fun - thoughts? I heard the poll was going for June 28th, and what a perfect day for it to happen.

Get with the U.S. Congress to pass legislation to make illegal members now legal. Then, have the U.S. Congress conduct a census to ensure how to set up voting districts for a prize for 10,000,000 member, including requiring ID to vote. Then, scratch all the above because it'll never get outta committee until you buy them fancy trips to golfing resorts. == Otherwise, provide them some free top-notch dev tools (other than Microsoft!), a nice Android Tablet (Samsung) or iPad mini. More specifically, put these items in a list of potential items for us to vote on (then prove we didn't create a sock puppet account to win the prize...)

The conference or the video call thingie? Seriously though, the conference should be organised on places reachable for everyone, e.g. Toronto for the north americans, Berlin and London for the europeans, Shanghai, Moskau and Bangladesh for the asian CPIans, Sidney for the down-undies etc.

                          cheers Marco Bertschi
