Anyone know any good Apache server forums? One that you like or have posted on that has a good chance that someone would respond to a question. Nature of question is server administration and security. Thanks.

If Windows, The Apache Lounge[^]. They also have downloads of Apache Server built with VC9/10/11, as well as x64 Builds of PHP. And a whole lot more!

I was once told by a paranoid admin (we called him MORDAC behind his back) that an unplugged, turned off, unlabeled server in a computer room is like a land mine waiting to go off, or like an unattended suitcase of unknown origin in an airport lounge.

That sounds about right, as vulnerabilities will not be patched until it's urgently needed as a replacement for some box that was hacked to pieces ...

Just because he's MORDAC doesn't make him wrong.

I subscribe to the apache users mailing list. You can find a link at httpd.apache.org A number of the apache devs are active on the list, and it handles questions from noob stuff to the really esoteric. Definitely good value. Cheers, Peter
