      Without seeing the video: 'The grandfather paradox' is one reason why .. and quite a reliable/convincing reason. I think they tried to make a movie called 'The butterfly effect' out of the concept :)

          But it solves itself. If you were your own grandfather, you'd be all inbred and stoopid, so you wouldn't be able to invent a time machine.
