I've found it's better to just leave them alone they have way more years experience being an idiot than I do so I'm out matched.

I am a team player, really, but sometimes it's just too much It's amazing how truly talented idiots are! Even when all facts support your claim, and you can easily prove your way. The resistant idiot always manages drag you down to their level and then beat you through experience. :sigh:

The timing of your post couldn't be more appropriate. I just had an argument with someone. They had a point I didn't agree with in part. However, the person didn't understand my disagreement. And he wanted me to explain it. I briefly explained it and he still didn't get it. So I just said let's move on. He didn't want to let it go. He asked me to explain it again. After another round of the merry-go-round, he was angry and I was getting angry that he wouldn't drop it. So I said there's no point of trying to explain something to someone who is threatened by me disagreeing with him. His response was that he isn't threatened by anything. That pretty much sums it up.

At my previous employment, I worked with one such mega idiot who was at a senior level, and didn't know the difference between a memory leak and a memory corruption. I understand that he need not necessarily know it in detail, but he tried to prove me wrong in a conference call full of people, which was totally uncalled for. I tell it's a memory corruption, and he will tell that it's called a "memory leak", repeatedly without paying attention to any of my words. That, with everyone on the call. I let go of it on the call, but emailed him (with everyone in CC), explained the differences between a corruption and a leak, and proved that he's a nincompoop.

And if the boss gives you a hard time asking: "which of us is the stupid one?" You can answer: "Everyone knows YOU don't hire stupid people"

Perhaps not the wisest of moves, because he will now be looking for ways to stab you in the back. Better to ensure that everyone else knows the difference, and let the idiot remain sublime in his ignorance.

Actually, it was already beyond salvation then. I quit that company a few weeks after that incident, and I heard that he had to go too (not sure if was asked to leave). Other than this idiot, there was a complete moron for a manager too (who was apparently fired because too many people complained about him). Every time I think that I'm out of there, I become happy. Even after nearly 3 years. :)
