Joking rant... What is that "Non-English Language" section all about? 1. Is that that english readers/posters are so... so... so.. I don't know... But so "something" that if some non-english language appear to them then they... they... they.. faint? vomit? die? what? 2. Is it that only english words can be of interest so others have be relegated to obscure sub-sections of the site? 3. Indian and Chinese?? These are nationalities not languages as far as I know.... Should a section called "non-english language" mention 1 non-english language at least??

Seulement, dans certains cas, n'est-ce pas, on n'entend guère que ce qu'on désire entendre et ce qui vous arrange le mieux... [^] Joe never complained of anything but ever did his duty in his way of life, with a strong hand, a quiet tongue, and a gentle heart [^]

No I do not think so.

well I think it has more to do with local community. I guess there are a lot of guys from India and China active on CP so CP has decided to give them a little extra space where can talk about local issues and all.

well yes. Indian and Chinese are not language (there are about 20-25 language spoken in India alone so will not be possible to mention all) there for it just suggest that that space for Indian and Chinese people and they can talk about issue in which international communities might not be interested.

The whole thing should be renamed... "Local sections" maybe, I don't know... not "Non-English Language"

1.Originally CP was an English only site, there are practical considerations to this. If someone stars posting in another language, it can't necessarily be policed by the community, leading to the potential for spam. 2. There was(is?) a drive to open up the site to places where development was inceasing, principally India and perhaps less successfully China. When this first happened the Lounge was blasted with the sorts of things that still periodically appear and get shouted down: primary-school level jokes, sentimental moral stories, cod philosophy and cricket posts. Lots of cricket postate. 3. Yes, those aren't languages. I think some consideration was given, but having say a Hindi forum would exclude non-Hindi speaking Indians.

Having a "Non-English" something sounds like you are not entitled to be in the "English" part if you are not english...

I don't know about Chinese but we Indians have about 1000 different languages out of which 28 is recognized by our constitution (English included). Now if someone posts in his own native language then no one except him will be able to read anything. We had this discussion a while back in the GIT and ended up posting up in regional languages. Some languages have got Google translate support and some didn't. See for yourself.
