Beware of a conman called Carlos Fonseca (also known to go by the alias of Rajesh R Subramanian) they are trying to sell a Bridge that belongs to me. It is my Bridge and I well sell it to you for a good price and I will include 3 magic beans and some Emperors Clothes. You will need to set-up a Nigerian Bank Account and send me the details. Yours Sir Colonel George Obeweji

Glaring mistake! Rank precedes title, for example General Sir Mike Jackson.

It's impressive all right. Makes you wonder how they built it... Is it one of the Swiss Tourist Board artifacts? Because I've always been convinced they drive down every road every year and assess if it's scenic enough. "No, we need a waterfall or something. Divert half a river..."

...and he's been trying to sell a bridge that belongs to me (actually, it's our ancestral property). In any case, should you be interested in the bridge, drop me an email.

It is part of the Gotthard Pass route. It was actually (first version) built at the beggining of middle age if I remember well, although there was a passage built by anciant Romans. Two more versions were build afterwoods. And on the mountain wall behind it there is a painting of the devil (quite old too)

If what the Snowden documents say about Microsft are true, and we really have no way of knowing if they are -- or aren't -- and if you believe that Google isn't doing the same (and Facebook, and Yahoo, and everybody else), I have a nice bridge I can sell you.

No I don't believe any of those big corps. My PGP stays where it was.

Thank you... I seem rather uninterested for beans and bridges. Well do you have emperor clothes in XL under $100

Given that Eric Schmidt recently met Henry Kissinger, UK government, big oil, big pharma, big guns and big banks behind closed doors for a multi day meeting with Big Data high on the agenda, protected by the full 3 ring circus of police, private security and real security, I don't think you're in luck. Can't be sure of course because no press attention was allowed and the hotel was forensically cleaned afterwards. Safe to say the NSA/GCHQ, the Kremlin and the Chinese Communist Party will continue have better access to your Google Drive than you do.

But that doesn't encrypt the metadata, which is what we're talking about. In fact, I'm pretty sure that encrypting an e-mail and including the PGP public key or signature in it (with the PGP "tags") is a good way to end up in NSA's watch list.

I am aware of the self-exposing nature of PGP so actually I use it (except for local files), I use another homegrown solution that I wrote in C#. It uses military-grade 256 AES encryption (:suss: Don't ask me how, that's extremely proprietary), along with some rather obscure obfuscation practices, but I can't tell you what's that. I even wrote an email client too, using that techniques, but even if NSA sees my email or scans metadata, that's a thing of least concern to me, because I only get some web notifications there.
