As Damian says, yes, within limits. However, it is worth noting that if you post trite rubbish, you will not be popular, and may receive some abuse. Polite, for the most part, but still abuse. Try to remember that the audience is adult, professional with at a bare minimum "normal" IQ, in many cases considerably above that. So makes your comments relevant to that group, rather than 10 year old schoolchildren! Jokes in particular do not translate well...

Fortunately, I recognised the beginning, and did not read the end. As a result, I am not still laughing... But it is surely dangerous to post a joke of that calibre where amateur humoursmiths might see it? They are untrained in such material, and are liable to explode spontaneously!
