    My task bar wasn't hiding. But why, I didn't disable the auto hide anytime. :doh: Just checked the properties and... "Auto-hide the task bar" is unchecked. How?? :confused: :confused: I think why all stuff happens me. Quite a while ago[^], I lost my start button, just to realize that it was the indication of a disk failure that came after a day. :~ Hoping, not again!

      If it's Windows 7 I can sympathise my PC at work takes between half to one & a half hours to boot after a last update. Access has gone awol......:confused:

          Say what? Are you sure you were running Windows? I seriously doubt the impending disk failure was related to the start button not showing. :)

                That's windows 7. And you can loose the start button if a disk controller error prevents the access to the binary resources of explorer.exe
