    Having Using an account.

I have an account, to reserve my name and stop others pretending to be me. I never visit it though, no matter now many "friends" try to conect to me...

Please note that in some areas noughts are always replaced with zeros by law, and many facilities cannot recycle zeroes - in this case, please bury them in your back garden and water frequently.

No it doesn't. There are dozens of accounts with the same name. It is even possible to have two accounts yourself with your name.

While it is true that the name can be duplicated, the "username" is unique (Try it out, go to https://www.facebook.com/zuck to go directly to Mark Zuckerberg's account), as is (are) the email account(s) associated with said account. I signed up for quite a few services for the same reason, to secure my username. My Facebook account went unused for years before I realized that I could reconnect with people I had lost touch with over the years. Also, I find it ironic that people are complaining about an online forum (Facebook) on an online forum. ;P

Have to agree. I use FB a lot. I even found old girlfriends on other continents. Getting in touch with them after years was nice. ;)

I might not totally agreed with all the points, but overall, it's kind of fun information to read, so.. em... enjoy yourself with the article:

Are you getting tired of Facebook or some of the behavior of your friends on the site? Facebook is the most popular social network with over 1 billion active users. And with great popularity comes some shameful characters looking to tap into Facebook's viral market to sell you their crappy products or scheme your money through affiliate links or worse. So if you happen to find yourself doing any of the 11 following things, you should look to stop doing so immediately before all of your friends look to jump ship!
