Just reading a review of a new car that's replaced the older AU Falcon. The report wrote: The producers at Ford built a base BA that did Bugger All to excite, but at least managed to dodge the ugly stick that hit the AU so hard Ya just don't see that kind of reporting over here :D cheers, Chris Maunder

 No, you don't! Refreshing, to say the least...:-D Nobody wants to read a diary by someone who has not seen the shadow of Bubba on the prison shower wall in front of them!

I do wish we had more of that here in the US. I'd love some honest news with some personality put into it.

"...this is David Stone, reporting live from the CodeProject." When I see US news, it feels like the reporter is more eager to say his/her name than actually reporting the news. But then again, to me US news == CNN news which may not be a totally accurate view. :) -- Ignorant people upsets me.

As a Pom, I don't know for certain, but I would think Austrailians would respect their heritage as British convicts ;P and swear in English, rather than American. That certainly seems to be the case with their top entertainer, Kevin "Bloody" Wilson. Some time back, there was an American bug-tracking package called "Bugger". They changed the name when someone pointed out the British meaning of the word. Personally, I though the name was perfect - it's first thing I say when I find a bug! :-D OK, only when I'm in polite company!

Hmm, I'm guessing as one of them says "phew, bugger me" that it implies that you do indeed take the same meaning as I would. Maybe it's just considered less offensive over there, or something (though again, it's context - someone saying "bugger me" to a child would be totally different) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!
