Google has nothing to do with SEO. SEO doesn't mean that google does some thing and page gets on top. Search Engine Optimization depends on lots of parameters. Different search engines use different crawlers.

I know someone who advertises his business on Google. He pays $4000/day to them which brings in $5000/day of business typically. So, he gets $1000 and Google get $4000 from his turnover. It's not hard to see why this company drips cash.
