style in the office

It really comes down to the workplace culture, what level you are at, and of course a person’s preference for what they wear. Where I work it is acceptable to be more or less casual, for those of us who interface with customers, you had better look professional. This also goes for the managers. My company has a fairly relaxed atmosphere and there are some developers who still dress business all the time, it’s what they like to wear, most of us, and that includes both men and women, wear pretty much what makes us comfortable, mostly jeans and business casual tops. Our company does draw the line at jeans with holes in them and t-shirts with inappropriate messages.

It was broke, so I fixed it.

Buuuuut, when going out to dinner with all the company people (twice per year) that was easily visible... They went there in a nicer look than the typical one. In my experience (US/Canada), the developer dress code has always been ultra-casual. That being said, the women engineers I've worked with have never dressed as shabbily as their male counterparts - who sometimes wear clothes with holes in them. :) /ravi

Nothing to do with subconscious, that is definitely too high settled for me. I just derived some anatomy information from the fact that you can see your feet (assuming the picture is WYSIWYG). :rolleyes: I reckon this is far lees romantic that what you probably expected, but then, I am a software guy...
