Has anyone noticed, there's a mass boycott going on Slashdot? Apparently they introduced a new HTML layout, which everyone hated. Now, all topics are getting only "I hate the new layout" answers.

Has anyone noticed, there's a mass boycott going on Slashdot? Apparently they introduced a new HTML layout, which everyone hated. Now, all topics are getting only "I hate the new layout" answers.
I think slashdot got it wrong, one major update completely changing the format and layout. Maunder on the other hand twinkles with the UI so regularly we have all become inured to change. His ability to ignore winges, whines, grumbles and bitchy little girls is almost waiter like!

Personally I've never hung around on Slashdot, but for the sake of this post I took a look at it. And the beta. It's a big change, yes, but I think the community is being childish about it. It's not that bad in my opinion. A lot of the comments just say f*** beta, which isn't really helpful. A different tech website I frequent did quite a big layout change not too long ago, and initially people were upset as well. The fixed some of the issues, and nobody complains about it anymore. People will always complain when change is coming up, and it'll always take a bit before people get used to it (Youtube anyone?). Slashdot did reply[^], by the way.

In theory, there is a site which can look at them all, and return information telling you which pages have material you are looking for. I say in theory, because most of our users have clearly never heard of it... :sigh:
