hey! could anyone guide me to the thread where this game was first mentioned? I'm not able to search for it. The only thing i can remember from the thread is: 'time waster' and the link mentioned in the first post: https://gabrielecirulli.github.io/2048/[^] According to the news, this game is the new addiction after flappy bird... !! :-D

It is addictive, but after I figured out how to beat it, I can now get to 2048 about two out of three times. You still need some luck to avoid the layout where your only move is to break your neat and tidy formation. Soren Madsen

Keep the largest tile in a corner and the rest "more or less sorted" around it. The randomness can still shaft you, but it's a good strategy.
