    Hello all I recently heard about Microsoft's move toward open-source technology by open-sourcing its .NET compiler through project Roslyn. The question is what is the reason behind such a big move? and also the availability of the compiler source free to everyone ?

      It's a sensible move on Microsoft's part. Some of the reasoning behind it is allueded to in this[^] interview.
