Hi there, I'm messing around writing a connection monitor, but have found that whilst it works with every other ISP, it doesn't work for AOL - it confirms the connection, but tells me it's a 9750kbps connection (unlikely, on a 56k modem ;)). Basically, I'm using the RAS functions (RASGetConnectionStatistics, etc) to query RAS for the connection info on the current machine. However, AOL seems to use their own proprietrary dial-up stuff, and just internally bridge a connection to this creating a virtual LAN on the host PC which allows all other Apps on the machine to access their connection. So, the question is, does anyone know how I can get a realistic connection speed? I'm wondering if I need to somehow access AOL's sockets and do something low-down myself. Anyone got any URLs or pointers to how I can find out how this stuff works? Your help is much appreciated.... Thanks Mark ________________________ http://www.webreaper.net
