So, let's recap: A bunch of people have taken nudie pics of themselves on their phones. The phones sync the nudie pics up to the cloud - probably without the knowledge of the hapless selfie target. Their accounts are hacked, because these people are not tech savvy, or iCloud isn't secure. Private nudie pics published. At what point did it become OK/ethical to invade somebody's privacy like this? Exposing the accounts had been hacked is enough, what happened here is something quite different. I don't even care if I sound like I'm disappearing up my own rectum on this one, somebody has to say it.

At the point when every nerdy saddo was able to buy a cheap PC and start programming. It's never ethical, but that won't stop hackers.

What I am really interested in, is : 1. How did that guy find the accounts of all these celebrities ? 2. How can someone "hack" the iCloud ? Getting access to the servers and copying all the pictures ? Bribing people to get passwords to the servers ? I also wonder what other kind of information he has found there (SMS, emails, etc...). Celebs pictures is certainly quite harmless compared to what may be found in those media.

I dunno - I think white hat hacking is possibly ethical, given that there will always be black hat hackers who do things like this. I do understand where you are coming from though - hacking is a complicated issue. Part of my beef has been the sniggering response (including here) - tee hee, nudie ladies, but unconcerned at the fact that these people have had their privacy invaded.

If you are worried about privacy, then why even go online. Why even go out in the world? God, Govt, cameras, businesses, hackers, everyone spies. The best thing to do is educate yourself and don't make morally bad decisions in your life. Wait until you get a camera embed in your eye and look at something your not suppose to or someone feels your not to look at. The future is going to be ugly. So welcome to the future! ;)

Didn't say that was right either. Nobody forced these people to publish these pictures, and just accepting this is the way it's going to be is a pretty lazy attitude to have.

The people who program these systems are morons. It must be obvious that you have to have some type of limit to the number of password attempts, otherwise the system is inherently insecure.
