Ok, this is what you get for feeding stray dogs, i.e. providing all that great information about my next direction and how you did self-education. I decided to change my displayed user name (less anonymous) and email (getting things sent to my professional development email instead of my personal screw around email....yes, I'm one of those!) Well! I found out I already have another account, with the right name and the right email. Apparently my ADHD took over one day and made me do it. The reason I did not realize the two account is I don't get the daily emails from here. So....what to do, what to do? Choice 1: Beg someone in some support responsibility to fix my stupidity Choice 2: Kill the other account, then make the changes here, hoping there isn't some "you can't use that name/addy because we haven't yet purged the other one you created, you moron" rule in place Choice 3: Use the other account and give my "BiggerDon" (I really am bigger than all the other Don's I've met!) as a parenthetical, "Don The Moron (aka BiggerDon)" and kill this one? It's probably Door Number 3, but maybe someone knows some reason I should not do it and 1 or 2 or 4 is the answer. Thanks again

Kill one of he accounts. Go to the site bugs forum and make the request there. Which one you choose to kill is up to you. You can always change the display name or email settings etc. on the one you want to keep. The logical one to keep imho is the one with the most sensible associated content/higher rep etc.

How did you do that? I changed my email then displayed name months ago. Still have got one account. Did you do both actions at one time? It might be a bug...

I'm the bug in his case...When I created this one I had forgotten about the other one, and created it with a different email account.

 Similar to that, the other day I was cleaning a up Visual Studio project I keep handy for testing things out, writing snippets to answer questions, etc. And had a bunch of old stuff I wanted out of the way. I decided to create a file named Experiments.cs and move the code there. System says "a file named Experiments.cs already exists". :sigh:

I still have a gmail account used by several parties. Years ago I set up my current google apps account to gather mail from the gmail account, behind the scenes. A few weeks ago I tried to directly access the original gmail account, but do you think google will reasonably allow me to reset my password? I'm still trying to update the remaining business accounts I have to use the new address so I can just let the old one die. Then, when I started the new job, my boss granted access all over Visual Studio Online to my work email address, because I delayed sending him my google address. I normally use my google address for all my Windows Live auth, but then I had to create a new Live account with my work address, to access VS Online. Then, a few days ago, I tried to set up an Office 365 trial account, to work on SharePoint online. Being a business account, MS insisted on me using an organizational login, not one of my now two existing Live logins. So, I created a new, thumbsuck, Live account that is supposed to be organizational. Moving on, in my daily work, I normally only need to constantly switch between the two most recent Live accounts, but accessing historical work is nice, and that requires me to effectively always be switching between all three Live accounts. BTW, Visual Studio, even up to Update 4, deals with this elpehanting poorly.

Thanks, Dave. I thought the site bugs forum was as close as I saw to what I wanted, but I didn't want them to think I was the bug that needed a good swatting.

I believe you can actually ask to get them merged.

Keys? Where are this damned keys? About a dozen years ago, as an adult, I was diagnosed with ADHD. I got a chuckle out of one person who said that his biggest issue was being late for everything because he always had to return home for something he forgot, and there were often multiple trips back home. I had just done that same thing earlier in the day.

I really doubt they take any lessons at all.
