Hi, I want to create a Sharepoint Stubbing using java api by, replacing the real files with a smaller file containing only the information necessary to retrieve the original file. Now the real file can be store anywhere and in any format as long it can be restored in a timely manner and unmodified. Please Guide me How can we implement this in SharePoint using java. Okay, I have no solution for that because in my eyes it makes no sense. Why should anyone want to do that. You can store links in SharePoint to your document if it is hosted by a file archive system You can store your document in SharePoint in the SP own file archive system. You shouldn't host a file anywhere to load it via SharePoint, that's not what SharePoint is for, that would only slow down your system. You can't use the functionality for documentlibraries which make SharePoint worth using SharePoint.

Okay, I understand, but perhaps you should ask your question on the Javascript Board instead. SharePoint isn't designed to be used in that way. On the other Hand you should hint your customer at this problem. He is buying a transporter and says he wants to race in Formula One. Of course it might be possible but it's total waste of time and ressources. My question at him would be: Why can't the files be hostet on SP? SharePoint is normaly made for that?!
