The hamsters got in trouble with Chris for posting garbled data when they get drunk. Instead of trying to keep them sober, Chris decided it was easier to have a moderation queue, most things slip through but occasionally you get caught by the 'possible drunk hamster' net.

Oh, got it. Shouldn't CP let the hamster know it's trapped in the cage? At least put a sign on the cage "You will be free soon".

Probably not - it means the spammers don't know that it's happening, and can't "tweak" the messages they post until they do get through. Honest, if you look at the moderation queue, the number of "false positives" is vastly exceeded by the "true positives" - and if the detector was relaxed, then a good number of the ones we don't want could get through. One weekend a little while ago, the moderation queue had thousands of spam items in it - even 10% of those getting through works Protectors and staff to the bone trying to kill them. If it's any consolation, I get trapped by it from time to time as well!

I just replied to this post[^] and it simply won't go through. When I go to my messages, it says (not publicly visible), why is that? Edit: After sometime, it showed up, but, still. Why?

Last week I double posted because I thought I must have been so proud of myself for my cleverness that I must have forgot to submit the post as minutes later it was not there. Which exposes me for the tool that I am.

The lounge is being moderated by a pair of twins from Lithuania who run a bordello in Transylvania as a hobby. Rugged individuals that love KitKat bars and watch reruns of Gilligans Island by day. The reason your post was so slow going through is because you haven't set up an account with them yet. The account consists of a promise to provide them with KitKat bars in return for their full attention when you post a message. Extra KitKat bars gets addition favoritism such as voting for bad jokes, etc..

It sounds like it's a good thing that spam is getting caught but unfortunate that there are a lot of false positives - don't let yourself be caught out by false positives simply try the all new false positive de-spammer application available from... it will make your skin look healthier too as well as helping you to lose weight.

I had a slow message as well last week. I had just replied to half a dozen comments of congratulations/consolation, so I figured it was trapped in potential spam. Also, not sure it ever actually went through and by the time I went to check I had forgotten what exactly I had written. So maybe it was for the best after all, Chris is protecting us from ourselves.

I made the post on Friday and checked back on Sunday. So if I had pasted it somewhere I could have recalled. But yes, I usually do the same as you. Put it somewhere else in case something goes wrong. If I had a nickle for every time I wrote a post and whatever site I'm on's internal page timeout caused it to implode. Which is when I think to myself is it really worth typing out that post again, and the usual answer is, "Nope, not worth it."
