Graph Databases O'Reilly Book: NOSQL Def - I think it's wrong.
-
Have you seen that advertisement at the top of CP for the book, Graph Databases? Here's the link: http://graphdatabases.com/[^] I'm reading the free book download and it says: [-- The resulting models are simpler and at the same time more expressive than those produced using traditional relational databases and the other NOSQL (Not Only SQL) stores. --] Not Only SQL?! I looked NoSQL up on wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NoSQL[^]) and it says: [-- A NoSQL (originally referring to "non SQL" or "non relational" [1]) database provides a mechanism for storage and retrieval of data that is modeled in means other than the tabular relations used in relational databases. --] Right, these are Document Databases. But I don't think NoSQL stands for Not Only SQL. Well, all terms are generally ruined by people who talk about them but didn't actually originate them. ;)
