    It looks like jsc42 isn't doing the CCC today[^]. So, have this really simple one: The Germans were having a come back (6) -- EDIT Fixed the date. :doh:

          Look at the date! It is still the 1st of December... It is written in CP, so it must be true... I think we can stop time indefinitely by NOT answering daily riddles :-D

            Look at the date! It is still the 1st of December... It is written in CP, so it must be true... I think we can stop time indefinitely by NOT answering daily riddles :-D

                          Indeed, it should have been a single word. I actually meant "answer" as a verb and went with "come back" (I believe "comeback" is a noun, not a verb). But now when I look at the clue, it really shouldn't have the article. :doh:

                            Since no one has posted the answer with the solution, you are up for today's one. :thumbsup: It was a "hidden word" clue and the answer was "ANSWER" "The Germ**ans wer**e having a come back" -> "come back" was the definition and "having" was the "hidden word" indicator. I think there were such situations earlier when a winner was declared even if they had posted the answer unknowingly. :)
