I belive that during the Clinton administration they took the power to degade the system away from the Military, and so I doubt that they would degade it's operation at all. Also, they have the ability to selectively degade the system (I have no idea how this works), but in 2001, they did this only for Afganistan. David

I doubt they'll do anything to the signals. Although the C/A code channels (civilian) is nominally nowhere near as accurate as the P/Y code channels used by the military, there's so many mission critical systems relying on it now (e.g. marine systems) that degrading it would have more drawbacks than advantages. Besides which, DGPS systems defeat the jitter and give better accuracy now than P/Y code anyway. ;) Anna :rose: Homepage | My life in tears

I read somewhere that GPS will continue to work.
