Hello, This is a problem with VS 2013 Help Viewer 2.1: I attempted to use Add Remove Help Content in VS2013 Pro to add one content which required updating many others. The downloaded completed (a little over 2GB) and 123 packages. The process installed packages up to 91 then became unresponsive (over 2 hours). Help has not worked since. Now, any attempt to open Help Viewer it only shows the splash screen and hangs unresponsive There is some detail information here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh492077(v=vs.120).aspx But I cannot seem to find the answer. I do not have free unlimited high speed Internet access so I do not want to just try uninstall and reinstall. I have over 8GB of off-line documentation with bookmarks that I do not want to lose. Thanks, Cris

C'mon man, this is Windows. You know that the answer is to reinstall! :-D

The difficult we do right away... ...the impossible takes slightly longer.

When my data plan rolls I will probably experiment with the [Help Viewer Admin]() [^] That way I will have it in a mess before I uninstall and slowly rebuild it. Or just wait until I upgrade to VS 2015 and see what I get for help. :sigh: All I wanted was to add one book to my off-line docs. I sometimes think the Windows "stack" is becoming a house of cards. Touch one thing and it starts falling down.
