SpecFlow, the popular open source Cucumber port for .NET, has been updated to version 2. The SpecFlow+ Runner extension has also been updated to support SpecFlow 2. The latest version of the test execution suite introduces support for the NUnit 3.0 and xUnit 2.0 test runners, including parallel test execution. Other new features include support for Gherkin 3, the ability to determine the hook execution order, extensible table conversions and comparisons, and many other improvements and fixes. More details on the changes in V2 can be found on the SpecFlow website and in the changelog on GitHub. SpecFlow+ Runner has also been updated to version 1.3 for compatibility with SpecFlow 2. SpecFlow+ Runner is a paid extension for SpecFlow that integrates directly with Visual Studio’s Test Explorer and extends SpecFlow with additional features such as HTML reports, execution statistics and smart test execution. Existing SpecFlow+ users can upgrade to the latest version free of charge until the end of February, even if their upgrade period has expired. SpecFlow is open source licensed under BSD and developed by an active community from around the world. Providing Gherkin support for .NET, SpecFlow is the test execution platform of choice for agile development with Visual Studio.
