May I be picky again? Who grants the US the right to propaganda Iraq this way (it's already going on for days, if not weeks, mind you)? Imagine ANY country (be it Canada) to drop leaflets near an US Army base, recommending them to surrender.

During '91 thousands of Iraqi troops surrendered, I think the hope is to try to get the military to realize that the US wants SH and his henchmen, not a fight with them. I think the US government has shown that killing people (whether innocent or not) is the last thing it wants to happen. I hope that Saddam values his life enough to step down and allow the US to take over without the need for war. However, I say that death is a natural part of war. It's not a good thing, but it happens. It's like driving in a car. You risk injury or loss of life, yet it doesn't stop you from getting in a car to get somewhere relatively fast. That's how war should be viewed. Our objective is to change the regime, and to get there we risk losing human life. It's just the way it goes. Regards, Alvaro

I do feel the original post in this thread was inappropriate though - hence my post.## Alvaro Mendez wrote: I hope that Saddam values his life enough to step down and allow the US to take over without the need for war. Fat chance. Tyrants like him are usually clever enough to know that there's nowhere to give up if they leave - justice will catch them eventually if they do. He'll do anything he can to cause mass bloodshed rather than leave. :(( Anna :rose: Homepage | My life in tears
