Count yourself lucky. In My ICT Class, VB is considered to advanced. I'm being held back I swear. I simply can't stand it.

Thanks....I need all the support I can get. The entire class is full of complete reprobates. They have no idea how computers work. The one decent computer-literate guy now thinks VB is the best thing since sliced bread because I gave him some lessons in it. Well, I gave him a lesson in generic programming logic, if clauses etc... and some grounding in other topics, nothing to complicated, but give him his due he's researched it himself. Although I cringe when he says stuff like "Yer, I coded this......coded that....." Its friggin VBA!!! You don't code it, you try and avoid runtime errors. Anything you try to code gets rejected. And you are not a programmer if you can make Access display a MessageBox

But, I can understand where you are coming from; my current gig has almost a 2:1 ratio of managers to programmers. Hey don't worry, I can handle it. I took something. Anyway, if you consider computer-illiteracy hell, then they are already there. If I get one more question of them about creating relational databases or form normalisation I swear I'll stab someone.

Believe me, you can draw billions of state/transition diagrams and petrinets on paper, but you'll never enjoy it until you've actually implemented it. A well balanced mix of theory and practice is what I've found most enjoyable - it gives you a great chance to fully understand the theory and perhaps even extend it with your own thoughts and ideas to create something (seemingly*) new. If you find that your school doesn't provide enough theory (science), you can always get it yourself.
