Hi Marc, I'm fine, thankee; I am in peaceful Chiang Mai, in the north, a long way from where the current trouble is. Of course it disturbs me to see the tragic news about the bombings. Like most long-term expats here, I avoid speculation about Thai politics, and hope for the best for the future of the Thai people who I genuinely like, and for their unique culture which was never subjugated by a western colonial power. Thailand remains a "Land of Smiles" for me, and I think I can say that free of any naive idealization. It is Mother's Day here, today, H.M. the Queen's Birthday. cheers, Bill

«There is a spectrum, from "clearly desirable behaviour," to "possibly dodgy behavior that still makes some sense," to "clearly undesirable behavior." We try to make the latter into warnings or, better, errors. But stuff that is in the middle category you don’t want to restrict unless there is a clear way to work around it.» Eric Lippert, May 14, 2008
