And the amusing thing is that this book is what, 30 21 years old? And it's still relevant. Shows you how much all these paradigm shifts have really accomplished. Marc Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

Freud wasn't a software development manager (good grief - can you imagine what it would be like if he were!). We're not talking deep and meaningful here.

Freud:No, no, this is a sure indication of something deeper... how close were you to your mother? Programmer:Uh, well, we always got on ok i guess, except - Hey! Programmer:Huh? Hey, what are you implying? Freud:Nothing, nothing... Tell me about your father, how did you see him? Programmer:All right, that's enough! I've fixed the bug & checked in the change. OK? Freud:I notice you have a lot of pens scattered on your desk... Programmer::mad:

Wow, a blast from the past, I remember reading it when it first came out. It all comes down to one thing really, not just in software development, we never learn from history. There is no real difference in the method of planning a large software project as to say building the pyramids, the general principles apply. But as allways our generation allways knows better!
