Hi, I've just navigated there but no setting seems to be useful to get the start menu opening in the right display... :sigh: It doesn't matter where the cursor or focus is, the start menu always gets opened at the first display when I press the Windows key...

Keep playing with it and you will see there are some serious issues. It is nice, I like what they have done but edge glitches out quite often it seems. Granted, I still use it but this is partly because I have multiple identities (for other networks) and using multiple browser's makes it easy to manage. Also, I like getting "free" stuff from MS (in case you are not aware you get more points by simply "browsing" with edge)

I guess I'll have to learn to live with that auto-restart behavior... In my case is very strange that I leave the computer ON by night, but... Regarding that taskbar extension, I even used specific programs like Actual Multiple Monitors to get it in Windows 7, it was terrible to have it only at the main display.

Creators update feels a bit intrusive as it asks if it can display "relevant ads". See : show relevant ads[^] :( Also, one thing I've run into on my laptop with NVidia graphics is that my screen flickers and blurs like crazy. I've installed various drivers. Gone back to previous driver versions and many other things to no avail. It was flickering so bad at one point that the screen would go black for 20 seconds or so. Quite terrible. However, other than that, Win10 is okay for the most part. For an OS As A Service (OAAS), I guess.:~

Good reason to have multiple identities ;P It actually has to do with managing a social network and being the owner of it. I have traceability for ownership so I can get my checks from ad providers, but I create new identities for roles that require no financial backing.

I was truly worried about the installation (activation problems, first upgrade, then reinstall...), but having received the USB with the Lenovo system recovery, it has been as easy as it could be.

I have only had Windows 10 for a couple of weeks and have been looking for a way to stop the automatic installation and reboot (I want the updates, but I need to be in control of when the computer reboots). There are several ways if you Google a bit, but I am not sure if they still work because I don't see the described result in my settings window. However, one of my setting might be working because right now I see this in my Settings window:

                  Update status

Updates are available. Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.239.1442.0).

                  Update settings

Available updates will be downloaded automatically, except over metered connections (where charges may apply). You'll be asked to install updates when they've been downloaded.

I guess I will know by tomorrow morning if my setting works.

If you find success, please post here. I've had times where I thought I had it beat, only to eventually come in to work to see the lovely cave image and bite my lip as I realize that I had at least half a dozen projects, multiple spreadsheets, a few notepad windows as scratch areas, and at least one unsaved query in SSMS. The projects and spreadsheets are fine, but I hate to think how many 'notes' I have lost over the last year and a half with 10. X| Win7 had me spoiled that way, now just have to get used to tidying up before leaving. Luckily, in just a few hours, I'll be on vacation for a week...going on my first cruise with my wife, idiot brother in-law and his wife. Bon voyage! See you suckers in a week!

The pending updates on my Windows 10 computer did not get deployed overnight, so perhaps I have found a setting that works. The problem is that I don't know which approach is working, but more importantly, as you and other people out there have indicated, I don't know if this will last. 1. I followed the steps in this article: How To Turn Off Automatic Updates In Windows 10 Via Registry[^] , but the UI in my Settings did not change to match the screen shots in that article. 2. This one I cooked up on my own: - Opened the Local Group Policy Editor (run gpedit.msc) - Under Computer Configuration | Administrative Templates | Windows Components | Windows Update - I opened Turn off auto-restart for updates during active hours - Set it to Enabled - Set Active Hours to start and end at the same time, 8 AM. The comment in the window says "Note that the max active hours length is 12 hours from the Active Hours Start Time", so I don't know if the MS logic will ignore the End Time I configured, if it will interpret my settings as a 24 hour active day, if it will implode the universe or do something else.
