    i have subtracted what i don't know, yet,
    from an approximation of what i know now,
    multiplied that by what i have forgotten,
    divided that by other people's estimates
    of whatever they think's who, what, i am,
    compensated the intermediate results for
    dark matter, donut holies, quantum grift

    i have considered damage to the synapses
    by junk food, anime, cosmic rays, teevee,
    free radicals, damage to the ozone layer,
    and, the little telomeric clocks betting
    that cell death's an absolute sure thing;
    only one significant correlate jumps out:
    ignorance and wisdom appear co-dependent

    «When I consider my brief span of life, swallowed up in an eternity before and after, the little space I fill, and even can see, engulfed in the infinite immensity of spaces of which I am ignorant, and which know me not, I am frightened, and am astonished at being here rather than there; for there is no reason why here rather than there, now rather than then.» Blaise Pascal
