I was 'analyzing' the computers at the tax service where I'm working and noticed an oddity that I've encountered before. There are 6 PCs networked in a Peer-to-Peer configuration, and I've verified that all are in the same workgroup. According to MS documentation, opening the Computers Near Me window is supposed to display all the connected computers in the same workgroup as the local host. It doesn't - after a long delay the window finally displays a blank window - and thinking back to other networks I've used, it never has. Opening the Entire Network and selecting Microsoft Network properly displays them all, and the network functions perfectly. These are all Win2K machines and, as I mentioned, everything works as it should except this function. Can anyone explain this odd behavior? "Please don't put cigarette butts in the urinal.
