DTED (Digital Terrain Elevation Data) I had a question ... and answered it myself. Can anyone give some pointers on possible pitfalls when reading in DTED data? nay

There's a bunch of us here who have worked with DEMs. Pitfalls I came up against: - poorly formatted data files (our files were ASCII so we could edit them) - incorrectely formatted data files (or using the wrong format version - ours changed every 6 months in some cases) - missing data points - issues with the direction of flow of the data points (are they stored top-down, bottom up, contour by contour...?) - out of memory conditions with really large data files cheers, Chris Maunder
