Ok, it's now Monday, St. Patrick’s day (weekend) is over and we’ve all gone back to work. Supposedly. Now, does anybody still have a hangover? I am not going to start working (if you can call it that) till tomorrow. I think I need the rest of today lounging around the house with my hot water bottle... I managed to pull of a complete 36 hour drinking session with a couple of my mates (6 PM Saturday to midnight Sunday), and downed: 8 x 30 bottle creates of Stella; 2 x 3 litre bottles of cheap cider; 5 x 900 ml bottles of Vodka; 2 x 300 ml cartons of pure lemon juice and around 50 sachets of salt – all on an empty stomach. No Guinness though, as that is too filling to drink in copious quantities. I wasn’t sick once, but I did pass out for a few hours Sunday morning after a few too many shots of Red Square X|. (And before you ask, those quantities were for all three of us, not just me.) So, anybody else taking the day off today to recover? David Wulff dwulff@battleaxesoftware.com

Christ, and I though I could take it! Even amongst 3 of you you are talking about a serious amount of liquids there - not counting the alcohol consumtion - although I suppose over 36 hours + unconscious time would make it a little easier! I hope you have a bucket handy, because if you havn't thrown up yet you will soon X|. All I could manage was 8 redbull + vodka's and a couple of beers before I was out cold Saturday night. Sunday was not a pleasant experience, let me tell you - especially not when I woke up finding shaving cream sprayed all over me (don't ask) ;P. Which actaully, kinds of reminds me of a question i've always meant to ask: If the next-day side effects are so undesirable (not to mention the usual vomiting) why the hell does anybody drink 'too much'. Careful drinking can be just as pleasurable - and you don't end up making a complete idiot out of yourself in front of all your friends . Oh well, boys will be boys I suppose... It's the case of 'I can do this better than you'. Cheers, James

Just wait till the next time we go out though, then i'll show them a mess. David I strongly suggest you immediately get a blood test, your liver, if its still there will be shot to bitz. The "8 x 30 bottle creates of Stella" thats some going :), even for a Stella fan like myself. Regards Norm

You guys must remember that those quantities were for all three of us, not just me (else I would be dead :(). And anyway, you can drink Stella all night long and not get p'sssed on it, so it can't hurt that much. As to my liver - I am still relatively young and im sure it can take it. I was under the impression that it was continued drinking that does far more long-term damage than the occasional mad party anyway. Kind of like smoking: You can smoke one cigarette a month for your whole life and the damage would be minimal. What's the point in living if you can't enjoy yourself? And 240 bottles, split three ways is 80 bottles each (give or take a few here and there). We didn’t start on the crates till at least midnight Saturday, so we talking about 6 or 7 bottles an hour. That’s really not very much - an average Friday night :p. The shots of Red Star was what had the ‘kick’... David Wulff dwulff@battleaxesoftware.com

Warnings? I never heard any warnings? My life is mine and I’ll do what I damn well like with it - I'm not going to let a bunch of highly acclaimed medical guys dictate what I should and shouldn’t do – so long as I am still breathing afterwards it can’t be *that* bad for you (with some obvious exceptions). (And before you think im some kind of alcoholic – im not. I just enjoy the occasionally night out with my mates). No, my head is fine again now, thanks. Although now the effect has worn off I am starting to feel the pain from my many new cuts and bruises - It nether ceases to amaze me some on the things people get up to when ‘under the influence’. Just so long as no-one has a polaroid handy its alright!
