The back room!

It only took me over a decade but I just stumbled upon the Back Room[^]. This forum does not appear in any CP menu - any reason why? Or should I let sleeping dogs lie and let that forum remain inactive? EDIT: As Nelek pointed out, my link (https://www.codeproject.com/Messages/5502089/Re-The-back-room.aspx) re-directs to the SoapBox. Another way to the Back Room is a follows: 1) Go to the Lounge and click on "Posting rules for the lounge" 2) In point #4, click on "Back Room"

If I remember correctly it was the original Soapbox that didn't have the touchy feely restrictive crap the current one has. Some Yank twat had the keys to it and could include/exclude who he wanted. His life seemed pretty awesome, he liked to tell unknown people on the internets how long he could root for. Don't reckon he ever pulled a root in his life though.

If it was active, the Back-Room forum looks like a great place to spend a friday night when I'm in the mood for a free-for-all. It makes me think of the old Disqus comment sections in the National Post (a Canadian news source, our feeble equivalent of the American FOX NEWS) about 10 years ago that was rarely moderated. Ahhh, now there are some wonderful memories of never-relenting, 'rambunctious' behavior.

for me it does appear in a menu. Look left, just between "the lounge" and "the weird and the wonderful" or am I missing something?
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

Yes, I also found the link re-directs back to the SoapBox. I edited my OP to provide another way to get there.

I'm using Firefox and the "Back Room" does not appear in the menu on my system. The same occurs with MS Edge. Which menu (features or community) do you see it in?

One would never think that by looking at the more recent postings. But if it is true then it would make a few good Friday nights of entertainment.

Doesn't appear for him either. He is saying The Soapbox is below The Lounge not The Backroom.

I think the earlier soapbox got too focused on bashing one another. It was an endless list of tirades mostly with GW topics. They then moved the soapbox to the backroom and created a new soapbox where one was supposed to behave more nicely. The backroom was still "anything goes". As you can see, this somewhat failed... and the backroomers moved to the soapbox. Chances are the "backroom" kinda has the same ring to it as a "dark room"... (ironically this is probably a topic for the backroom  ) and therefore moved. PS: I could be wrong of course ;)

You're thinking about Soapbox 1.0, but I doubt that they would invite him over.

Is it a Harry Potter reference?

Nope... it is a real "I don't know what he wanted to say" Forget it... you "asked" about his "Platform 9 and 3 quarters" And, yes... now that you say it... I recognize the reference to Harry Potter too. Thank you for the tip
