Digital Cameras

Hey Guys, I've decided that I'm in the market for a digital camera and I was hoping that some of the amateur photographers here might be able to suggest either some good cameras or good sites where I can get more info. I'm looking to spend up to £500 and battery life and picture quality are my two biggest requirements. Cheers James

I second DPReview.com recommended by Chris. Also the Sony FJ series (Meg has one) does a good job IMO. As do the Fuji Finepix. You could also save up a bit more and get the Canon 10D for about $1000, that is a digital SLR and very good to boot. OR you could buy a film camera (Canon, Nikon or Pentax) :-D
