It's a life choice, silly. Try it if you are cool enough.

That still does not change the fact that the Christian religion (maybe not Catholics) challenges you to test it out, never tells you to just accept it.

Why? Should it not be classified a drug?

It is a boring and introspective drug that leaves your brain like mush.

Yes, of course.

No, it doesn't. Christianity is not this "loving, give us a try, we're researchers" nonsense. The Christian religion is based on fairy-tales that already existed before, did things that other profets did, by a man not mentioned ANYWHERE in history except in the bible. And no, Christianity does not promote thinking; talking about some witch that walked on water. Next to that, nothing good comes out of religion. It should be banned in all forms, as the great evil that it is

Sorry, I don't see any. It is probably only in your head.

Care to share examples? Don't show examples of people on drugs throwing up on the streets. We can see that in every country, legal or not. And remember, this is just pot. Other drugs are still illegal.
Yeah, I've looked into it some more and you're right. Encouraging people to use substances that reduce your brain function, cause addiction and psychosis, and act as a gateway to harder drugs is going to have no adverse affect on society at all

Dont consider all drugs as the same. Alcohol was more of a problem when made illegal in the US (criminality + more people drank), but in general it is a safe drug. Dope tends to lead to neurotic behaviour in some. Coke is safe, till your heart packs in, at 60, but is fun till then (thus boosting GDP and fixing the pensions problem as well as saving the health service money in not having to treat old people). Speed is just cheap coke, and makes people lose weight (boosts the GDP, and fixes the type 2 diabetes problem and hence saving the health service money.) So yeah, some good and bad there. :)

Legal or not, people will smoke pot. They won't get a criminal record for doing now.

And now there is a high chance they will migrate to harder drugs, and people who would never get hooked on drugs before might now start. It doesn't bother me in the slightest that people get criminal records for using controlled substances because the effect is wider-reaching that the act itself and people need to realise that. Things like this send out a message that using drugs is no big deal, it's harmless and so on, and that is arguably a bigger danger than the fact that there will be even more loser pot heads shuffling around.

Laws need definition. How do you "define" if someone is impaired if you can't objectively measure or detect it? People driving while impaired from drugs *is* a big problem and the police often can't do anything about it. And of course it's not just the dope-heads driving while under the influence, their brains are so addled and useless they'll still be a danger even when not under the influence.
F-ES Sitecore wrote:

Agreed. That's the first thing that has to be defined. You're telling me it hasn't?
F-ES Sitecore wrote:

That's news to me if that's true. I've never heard of a story where some pot-head was let go because a cop didn't have any proof/evidence.

I imagine the number of high drivers will increase now that it is legal. So, no, I don't think it is remaining the same.

So the argument against police "readiness" has to do with the potential increase in pool size, and not how to establish whether someone is high or not. It would be easy enough for the media to explain it that way, but that's not at all how they're presenting the argument.

So, because you do not believe it nor can understand it then it must be evil. OK. That's not crazy at all. :omg:

No, that's YOUR way of magical thinking. I do not believe, I verify. I'm sick and tired of deluded people saying that religion is a good thing. Speaking untruths as if they were real, basing judgement on that. And because we can prove that the stories are utter bullshit, most Christians now no longer believe the "literal word", but choose to worship a God-of-the-Gaps (look it up). So, what good has the Church contributed? Outside some jokes on child-abuse, refusing vaccinations (because it is in Gods' hands) or explaining other people how they GO TO HELL TO SUFFER ETERNALLY* because of an abortion? *) ..but he loves you. If you are religious, my condolances. Apperently lots of people still need the crutch because reality is too scary and hard. Still doesn't give them the right to "educate" any of their nonsense to kids.

Exactly, which is what my first post was all about. Christianity encourages you to verify. Glad we can see eye to eye on that one.

You keep referring to the Catholic Church, not the Christian religion. Huge difference.

No, it doesn't, it is based on this thing called belief.

Both based on the same false premise, both perpetuate their fantasy. We have adults making up new stuff to defend that fantasy, claiming it to be "truth".

And another way to defend your false belief; lying to yourself to protect your valuable nonsense instead of actually trying to quantify my experience or understanding. And then you base your life-decisions on such lies and dare to suggest it has a place in the future of mankind. And since we're at it; God is "everywhere" and "everything". So this is just me, God, rambling against you how I do not exist. It would be heresy to claim otherwise if you believe in the Christian concept of God.

I can see this is hard for you so I'll spell it out a little slower. Christ taught things. We believe that. However, he said if you wanted to know if what he taught is true, then to test it. You cannot get more free thinking than that. I see you have a lot of anger towards religion. I have no idea what has happened in your past, but I can tell you that God does exist and that he loves you and that he knows you on a personal level. And you can know if he is real too. Simple.
