Ah well, I was living like a monk anyway, so this should pose no problems for me :-\

          72 commandments.

          Devote yourself frequently to prayer.

I prefer actual code-reviews over prayer. If someone prays before a release, it is time to move.

Attribute to God, and not to self, whatever good you see in yourself. Recognize always that evil is your own doing, and to impute it to yourself.

So if I do something good, he takes the credit, but if the devil makes me do it, it is my fault? Does that make God a software-manager?

          Be not addicted to wine.

Then stop with turning water into it and start making smoothies.

          Clothe the naked.

No need to; if they needed clothes they would be born with them.

Bastard Programmer from Hell :suss: If you can't read my code, try converting it here[^] "If you just follow the bacon Eddy, wherever it leads you, then you won't have to think about politics." -- Some Bell.

Very commendable, but let's stay quiet about this. You would not want to hear from someone in Rome. They tried to declare me a saint, but I did not fall for it. You have to be dead before you can officially become a saint.

I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats. His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

Good. I still have a letter of marque from the lords of Waterdeep[^]. Anyway, Athas is also a fine place to roll some dice.

I'd love it, especially since it really calls for the introduction of psions or, better yet, warlocks (as per 3.5 edition and not 5th). Without them I don't know, I like it but it's too hostile to spellcasters. Maybe I could play my Human Monk there...

First time I played, I asked the GM what kind of character would fit best to me. He told me that I would probably enjoy playing a Templar. :-)

Cool! My monk is more a Kenshiro type without much moral guidance (Legal Neutral) and as the campaign progressed he developed quite a bit of PTSD. My ispiration for its core were a mix from Kenshiro and Zell Dincht (Final Fantasy VIII), the rest came naturally. The PTSD wasn't planned at all, it just developed until I recognized it as such. Too bad the party split irredeemably.

You do know that Athas is more like a post-apocalyptic wreck of a fantasy setting where halflings are cannibals, elves are scavengers in the desert and a templar is the merciless goon of one of the defilers?

That should be #1 commandment for project managers.

Insert necessary Project Manager joke: Three men: a project manager, a software engineer, and a hardware engineer are helping out on a project. About midweek they decide to walk up and down the beach during their lunch hour. Halfway up the beach, they stumbled upon a lamp. As they rub the lamp a genie appears and says "Normally I would grant you three wishes, but since there are three of you, I will grant you each one wish." The hardware engineer went first. "I would like to spend the rest of my life living in a huge house in St. Thomas with no money worries." The genie granted him his wish and sent him on off to St. Thomas. The software engineer went next. "I would like to spend the rest of my life living on a huge yacht cruising the Mediterranean with no money worries." The genie granted him his wish and sent him off to the Mediterranean. Last, but not least, it was the project manager's turn. "And what would your wish be?" asked the genie. "I want them both back after lunch" replied the project manager.

Let's see. At various times in my life I've broken: ...well, I was going to enumerate the list I've broken, but it's much shorter to enumerate the list I haven't: Murder and addiction to wine. Lord have mercy on my soul, I am clearly a major sinner!
