Vegetables...

Just made a in-house research about vegetables... I found that we buy a bit less than 17 Kg of vegetables each week... The five vegetables made to the top are: 1. Cucumber 2. Zucchini (of different colors) 3. Potato 4. Carrot (of different colors) 5. Beetroot How're your vegetables?

Let's have a look in the larder... Hmmm... Onions Cucumbers Onions - red ones this time. Carrots - red Onions - Spring (or "Green" the USians call them). Brussels Sprouts Onions - White, sweet Green Beans, Yellow and white as well (frozen). Garlic - whole cloves, powdered, chopped, flaked, you name it, we've probably got it. Red Beans Green Peppers Radishes Lettuce - nice crispy Iceberg, not that other, pretentious, bitter stuff. White Cabbage Red Cabbage - gone a bit dry and brownish - chucked out. Carrots - yellow Bean Sprouts Peas - frozen - the freshest way Daikon Radish Pickled Onions Cauliflower Broccoli Kohl Rabi - gone off, we'll have to chuck them out as well. Celery - also gone gooey - in the same bag as the Kohl Rabi. Potatoes - three different kinds but I don't know the names offhand. Heinz Baked Beans - perfect! Ketchup - well if a US president says they're a vegetable, who am I to argue? No actual Tomatoes as my son is allergic to them - we gave up eating them in support. That's it at the moment.
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Pancakes and syrup. Pancakes come from wheat...a type of grass...a vegetable. Syrup comes out of maple trees...a large vegetable. I had vegetables (small and large) for breakfast. Seems like enough.

I'm thinking the same way. Chicken eat grain. Cows eat grass. Pigs, well...eat about anything, but ultimately it still revolves around mostly green stuff. As long as I'm not served "food for my food", I'm all set.

Lots of root vegetables this time of year, it is the end of the harvest in Québec. What's left in the fridge. parsley root, parsnip, celery-root, potatoes, jerusalem artichoke, multi colored beets, carrots ,onions and the last of the tomatoes.
I'd rather be phishing!

17 kg, on how many people? Here's my list of this weeks' vegetables; 1. Ketchup/tomato paste (for fries/pizza) 2. Fried unions (fries) 3. Sriracha (pizza) 4. Garlic powder (anything except icecream) 5. Pesto (pizza)

"How" they are? Well, the first is happy in a bottle, the fried unions are miserable in a box. The garlic powder is feeling dry, the sriracha is feeling hot.

Have you ever tried garlic ice cream using fresh garlic chips. The contrast between the cold of the ice cream and the hot zing from the raw garlic is really nice.

Peeled and sliced into sticks, great for a dipping snack along with carrot sticks and celery sticks. I'm into dipping sticks!
