What I would like to do now is open up nominations for project leaders of our 3 winning ideas. After the leaders are picked, I will have an "assignment" for them and we will open up some more discussions on the winning projects. Below this message are 3 messages, one for each idea, and I would like the CPP volunteers to reply to each one with their nominations for project leader. If the person nominated feels their resources can be used in a better way or if they just don't want the responsibility, then they can opt out. Here are my recommendations for project leaders: Defect Tracking, etc. - Anders Molin UGLY - Tom Welch App. Framework - Marc Clifton (no offense to jdunlap, but Marc has more experience at CP and jdunlap has only been here 3 months.) These are only recommendations so the collective nominations will supercede my own. Again, I ask that all new threads about CPP in this forum be started by me. If you wish to discuss a topic, please make a [RFC](http://www.codeproject.com/script/profile/whos_who.asp?id=36966&df=100&forumid=5105&app=50&select=513418#xx513418xx)[[^](http://www.codeproject.com/script/profile/whos_who.asp?id=36966&df=100&forumid=5105&app=50&select=513418#xx513418xx "New Window")] on my profile page.

I was just reviewing the suggested users for project leaders. I have no argument against any of them, but was wondering if you knew of any relevant experience they have that would make them so suitable for the role for that project. Marc has a goos article record in the C#/.NET area which should help towards a Application Framework project. Tom only has the 2 articles in areas not really related to the UGLY project, although he does list many technologies which are applicable to this kind of project. Anders - I didn't really look upm as the defect tracking is not a project I would personally want to work on - I am an UGLY man most probably :-D If these people or any others who get put forward as possible project leaders could give an overview of what they can bring to the role would be good to see and help in the voting. Oh well, hope I havn't upset your thread(s) too much. :-O Roger Allen Sonork 100.10016 Were you different as a kid? Did you ever say "Ooohhh, shiny red" even once? - Paul Watson 11-February-2003

Good question, and the answer is no, I haven't done a thourough background check on any of them except Marc. The FBI told me he was trustworthy. Seriously though, if you feel like you have more experience or would rather see someone else take the role, then by all means nominate them. I chose these guys because they either originated the idea or showed great interest. Responding to this thread is fine. I would just rather keep discussions controlled so we can stay focused. I hope I'm not coming across as a tyrant.

He's got my 5. I don't mind as long as I can have some input - I do have a bunch of ideas in this area, which is why I suggested it. As always, if you don't want any messages here, let me know, but you did say nominate and discuss...

But what I do know is that UGLY and the Framework will not stay appart for long so presumable the leaders need to be able to work together as a pair. Although I have good programming skills, I'm not too good at leadership. Jason Henderson seems to be a good leader, but we may need him for the general coordination and the coordination between teams. :) Maybe we could have the people with leadership experience speak up, because right now we really don't know people's backgrounds very well.

If you think someone else would do better, suggest him/her. But otherwise, Anders Molin would probably be just fine.

I must have succeeded in deleting my case file from the FBI! Mwahahahah! :-D I'm more than happy (and honored!) to fill the project lead role, if that's what everyone decides on. If anyone is curious as to what else I've done, I can send them my resume. I also don't want to cram the AAL concept down anyone's throat, so if anyone is wondering, I think the idea here would be to get everyone's input an concensus on what an Application Framework should look like, etc. Marc P.S. My other post went to the wrong thread. I'm sure that was my fault. :~ Help! I'm an AI running around in someone's f*cked up universe simulator.

I just replied to your post and it went to the BOTTOM of the message board!!! :omg:  X| Well, here it is... Marc Clifton wrote: I'm more than happy (and honored!) to fill the project lead role, if that's what everyone decides on. And we're happy to have you. Marc Clifton wrote: I also don't want to cram the AAL concept down anyone's throat, so if anyone is wondering, I think the idea here would be to get everyone's input an concensus on what an Application Framework should look like, etc. If we choose the best of everyone's ideas, we can make the best framework yet. The main idea (IMHO) is to make all resources (code and otherwise) easy to access, easy to manage, and well-organized.

I don't really know anyone at CP's particular giftings... But what I do know is that UGLY and the Framework will not stay appart for long so presumable the leaders need to be able to work together as a pair. Also which of you people out there have any experiance in leadership??**

What is happening here ? What have I missed ? I've co-incidentally been thinking about starting a defect tracking tool ( in J2EE, but that died, so I'm moving to ASP.NET ). If something is happening here I can be part of, that sounds cool.
