Credit Card pranks

"You can see that I already have the signature of a monkey on crack" On a similar note, I was quite amazed (as you know, us spoilt SA's have people putting fuel in our cars for us) while learning to put my own petrol in in the UK, that I can pay at the pump! Yep, just put in your debit/credit card prior to filling up, and the pump displays your petrol limit (mine's double the amount I would need to pay to fill my 40 litre tank, which seems a little worrying in itself). I wonder how many lost credit cards in the UK pay for petrol before they are reported :~

Agree. Having said that, shopping via the internet is even more worrying, considering that all you need is the credit card number and expiry date.:omg: No card needed.
I also have been using my card for years and can only remember once ever being challenged on my signature.
Anyway, signing (any) documents makes me nervous. My future credit card sig: The Dark One, Overlord and master

PlatoI offered the following suggestion to a bank once. Issue me with a wireless card confirmation device. Then whenever a transaction is attempted against the card number, send a confirmation request to the wireless device. The holder of the device, then can confirm/deny the transaction. In theory it should dramatically reduce fraudelent use of stolen cards and numbers. In practice however, the extra time required might be too aggravating. But with wireless technology advancing as fast as it has, this might curtail a lot of credit card fraud. Or, they could be waiting 'til they have a critical mass of patents, enforce them all at once and win the game of Risk that they're playing with the world." Chris Sells Feb 18, 2003.

We have a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Tracer at home (SA), but just (4 weeks ago) decided we'd been here long enough now to warrant getting a car. Seriously, the tank maybe a little more than 40 l, I'm not too sure. It's a second hand Nissan Sunny (Nissan Sentra), but I'm not sure how accurate the fuel gauge is, so I fill up after 350 miles. Despite being second hand, and not that fancy, we're having a ball! Seeing loads of England suddenly (have done 3000 miles in just over 4 weeks  ), and we're off to Cornwall this weekend. Did I mention the sunroof. A first for us :-D You must think I'm really silly raving on about a 2nd hand car this way :-O - keep in mind, we've been using the UK's public transport for the last year.
