They're vegans - they probably release them into the wild ... No - you eat them. They used to be popular Christmas street treats in the UK, and still are in NewYork and parts of Asia. (They go really well with roast brussels and bacon for a Christmas Dinner side dish.) A lot less trees around than there used to be!

In Italy we had Crema di Marroni[^] which we put on bread, it was delicious :-\

Here in US chestnut blight destroyed most of our trees. But they're making a come back.
I'm not sure how many cookies it makes to be happy, but so far it's not 27. JaxCoder.com
