I am getting old

You mean "tolerating" technology... That's my view anyway. I can't wait until I retire and don't have to care about new stuff anymore.

That means that luckily you are old enough for that (me? not yet :sigh:)
M.D.V. ;) If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about? Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.

The Great Database Event. Not many people remember. A few still have the scars...

I remember, and fondly carry the wrong join date as a memento of marvelous times in the industry, and our community. Even though I don't actively program anymore, except for occasional personal projects, I still consider this site my home on the Internet. I haven't contributed much in the last decade or so, and I wouldn't blame you if I got deleted, but this community is my family. I have a great affection for all who frequent the site, it being the only truly useful site on the 'Net for those who code. I've learned a bunch, and taught a bit, and never spent a moment here that wasn't enjoyable and/or useful. I can't thank you enough, Chris, for the magnificent site that you, and Uwe, et al, created all those years ago. Happy New Year, my distant friend, and may God grant you many more years of ever increasing success. This is my home, and until I'm kicked out - screaming and biting - I shall remain.

Just curious... which part of Germany? I am in Bavaria.

I am living near the German border, Baden-Württemberg. Bavaria, damn, I have been mistaking your profile flag for the Belgian one all this time ( Nelek sounds Flemmish ). *facepalm*

Three years, and I'm cashing out...

Nelek has nothing to do with that. It is just a small variation of the nickname I have used since I started chatting in college with mIRC back then in my birth city. Then I came to north germany, moved a couple of times and I now live relativelly near Munich.

You? Be deleted? I'd rather cut off my right arm. Or someone's arm. No sense in wasting a good one (Name the source of that quote for 10 point!)
cheers Chris Maunder

Sounds like something my old friend Zaphod would say, though I can't recall it.
