I didn't make it to the gym today. That makes five years in a row.

Unfortunately, I am quite allergic to most forms of exercise, and I am under a doctor's strict orders to not go to the gym under any circumstances. To make matters worse, my wife has to do all the work around the house and property, since I am medically unable to. :-D

I was an imaginary friend when I was a child ...

If you find another imaginary person to multiply with, you will end up with something real. Sadly, it probably will be negative.

And how much did you have to pay the doctor for that note? :) Asking for a friend ..

Not going to the gym is always a top priority. It's hard work and I can't afford to skip a day or I may gain my losses. It's almost a top sport, but once you start it's addictive

Me & my GF, we've made Wednesday our pub day. How comes? In our ex-gym, Wednesdays were the days with the pool being (mostly) free due to scheduled courses. But y'know, do we, like, REALLY need to go to the gym today, or would a pub be more fun and as great if not better as a together-activity? That's how Wednesday became our pub day. We're sticking to it (unless there's a pandemic going on) long after having quit the gym.

To inject a little seriousness, a gym is not required to get exercise. Just get out and walk a little, do some yard work, take a bike ride, whatever. For those who are out of shape, but want to do something about it, start small--but start! Walk down to the mailbox today. Maybe the corner tomorrow. Maybe around the block next. Keep going! (FWIW, my late brother never bothered to try, and died at 41 due to his obesity.)

funny, but I think I have made exercise a regular part of my week for the last 30+ years. I went almost stir crazy during the height of covid because I couldn't exercise. Figured out an outdoor venue where we could and just kept going. If I don't exercise my brain actually has issues. I am a much better person with an outlet like hitting a small ball really hard for a few hours each week. International Racquetball Federation – Official website[^]
